Year 11 and 12

At CRC Melton, students have the option to complete the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) or the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) in Year 11 and 12.

Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)

The College offers a wide range of VCE subjects designed to meet tertiary entry prerequisites whilst catering for the diverse learning needs and academic interests of students. VCE students also have access to a small number of VET subjects which accredit them with an industry level qualification. The vertical alignment of the curriculum from Year 10 to 12 also gives access to students who are academically strong and wish to complete an accelerated VCE subject.

Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL)

VCAL is the course designed for students whose post-secondary school pathway is an apprenticeship, traineeship or a TAFE course. The learning style in VCAL is very hands on and provides opportunities for students to undertake a program of study that suits their learning needs, interests and career pathway. The four strands in VCAL are Numeracy and Literacy, Industry Specific Skills, Work Related Skills and Personal Development Skills. Students attend the College three days per week, with one day spent doing their Vocational Education and Training (VET) and the other at work placement.
