Overview
Students at Catholic Regional College Melton experience an exciting and innovative learning journey during their years at the College. Underpinning our work are the core values of instilling a love of learning in our students, a sense of hope and the development of skills and attitudes that nurture strong aspirations in every student. With an expectation of academic excellence always, students are challenged and encouraged to become the best version of themselves. This is achieved through academic endeavours and challenges in every year level.
Students are exposed to a variety of contemporary learning styles that are challenging, engaging and relevant to the world in which we live. We encourage students to be fully engaged in their learning and to develop their critical, creative and ethical thinking skills. Learning is collaborative and students are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning to achieve academic success. Academic excellence is widely celebrated at Catholic Regional College Melton and is recognized through high expectations and an individual commitment from each student to achieve his or her personal best.
In 2017, The Victorian Curriculum was introduced across all learning areas in Years 7 to 10. This curriculum acknowledges that student needs and interest will vary and allows for schools to plan a curriculum in ways that will respond to these needs and interests. The capabilities have been embedded into the curriculum of the relevant learning areas and provide the knowledge and skills that, when combined with the curriculum content of each learning area, will give students the tools they need to participate fully in their world.
