Dance Month

On Wednesday 6th August, 20 students from Years 7 – 11 participated in a Jazz workshop after school.
The workshop was run by choreographer and performer Priscilla Stavrou who travels all around the world with her talents.
The students worked extremely hard during the workshop attempting all of the movements and really impressed Priscilla.
There are three more after school workshops to come including Contemporary, Ballet and Hip Hop.

On Wednesday 20th August, nine students from Years 7 - 11 attended a Ballet workshop to improve their technical skills.
Choreographer Kara Burdack, who was trained at the Victoria College of the Arts, has made a very successful career through her passion for Ballet.
Kara was very impressed in the dedication the students exhibited, attempting all movement phrases, some being extremely difficult.
Great job girls.

On Monday 25th August 30 students participated in a Belly Dance Workshop at lunchtime in the College hall.
Annabella Dickson is a professional belly dancer who performs all over Melbourne in Turkish restaurants and has travelled through the United States performing.
The students did so well at shaking their hips and really giving it go. Not only did we have many girls participate but a large group of boys also.

On Friday 29th August students from Year 7 - 11 participated in an awesome hip hop workshop after school.
The workshop was run by Renee Von Senden, who teaches at many dance schools around Victoria and was in the senior company at Dance World in Melbourne.
This marks the end of Dance Month for 2014. I would like to thank all of the amazing students who participated in the workshops. There are so many students at this school that have incredible talents in dance. Keep up the great work boys and girls. We will see you next year for another dance month in the new Performing Arts Centre.
