Enrolment Procedures


Thank you for considering Catholic Regional College Melton for your child’s secondary education.
As a Catholic College with Faith at our core it is an expectation that prospective families are committed to the Catholic faith and supportive of the educational aims of the Catholic Regional College Federation when accepting an offer of enrolment.

Enrolments in the Federation of Catholic Regional College are dependent on:

1. The recommendation of your Parish Priest who attests to your support of the Church and Parish.
Support the Church and Parish by:
-Support of Catholic Family values as shown by the acceptance of the Sacraments and your attendance at Mass on Saturday/Sunday.
-Support of your Parish. 
This can be shown in various ways:
- Member of the Parish Administration Committees - Youth Groups - Fete Committee
- Social Activities
- Assistance at your Church, i.e. Reading, Choir, Eucharistic Ministers
- Assistance in your Parish, i.e. Working Bees, St Vincent de Paul Society, Participation in Project Compassion, Participation in the Justice Group, Participation in the Thanksgiving Program, Prayer Groups, Renew Groups, Assistance in school programs 

 
2. Support of the Policies of the College.


Federation of Catholic Regional College Enrolment Policy


1. Catholic Regional College gives priority in the following order:
 a) Students that have a sibling currently attending the College.
 b) Catholic students in priority parish primary schools, residing in the College zone.
 c) Catholic students in other Catholic primary schools, residing in the College zone.
 d) Catholic students who are residents of a designated College zone who attend non- Catholic primary schools.
 e) Students from non-Catholic Eastern churches residing in the College zone.
 f) Students from non-Catholic Eastern churches residing outside the College zone.
 g) Non-Catholic students in Catholic primary schools, residing in the College zone.
 h) Non-Catholic students in Catholic primary schools, residing outside the College zone.
 i) Non-Catholic students who have not attended a Catholic primary school.


2. The offer of a place is dependent upon the family’s acceptance of the Mission, Values and Policies of the College, and agreement to the terms and conditions of enrolment, as outlined in the Explanatory Statement accompanying the enrolment form.


3. The Colleges follow the Catholic Education Melbourne enrolment procedures and timeline. These are published on the College website.


4. The Federation Principals work together, and with Principals of other secondary Colleges, to ensure that all Catholic children living within the Priority parishes can access Catholic secondary education. This may mean being offered a place outside the zone.


5. The particular pastoral needs and circumstances of individual students are considered by the Federation Principals in applying the enrolment criteria and in making enrolment decisions.


6. Students from outside the zone, not from priority parishes and those from other faiths, denominations and traditions can only be considered for enrolment if places are available.


7. The Principal of each College has the right to use discretion in the matter of enrolments.

Enrolment Process


Year 7 2022


The enrolment process for Year 7 2022 is now open and will close on Friday 21st August 2020. Enrolment packs will be delivered to all Year 5 students in our feeder Catholic primary schools and will be available on request to parents from Catholic parishes and other school settings.


1. Application forms will be available from the College from Monday 17th February 2020.


2. Applications for Year 7 2022 close on 21st August 2020. The application must be returned with a photocopy of the child’s Birth Certificate, Baptism Certificate, last school report and an application fee of $50 (If born outside of Australia a copy of the VISA and/or Australian Citizenship Certificate is required).


3. Families who do not have a child attending the College will be required to attend a College Tour and will be interviewed by a senior staff member at a later date.


4. All families will be required to attend an interview with their Parish Priest. Families who belong to the Parish of Melton are required to contact the Parish office. Families from the Parishes of Bacchus Marsh and Melton South will be contacted by the Parish office.


5. Applicants are notified by mail of the result of their application by Friday 16th October 2020.


6. Families wishing to accept the offer are required to confirm their acceptance by completing the Enrolment form and returning it to the College with a $100 deposit which is deducted from the first term fees. This deposit is non-refundable. The paperwork and deposit needs to be returned by Friday 6th November 2020.



Year 7 2021

The enrolment process for Year 7 2021 has closed. However applications received after the closing date may result in a student being placed on a Waiting List. This includes late sibling applications.

Other Year Levels

Enrolment for students in other year levels involves:

  1. Completing an Application for Enrolment. The application must be accompanied with a photocopy of the child’s Birth Certificate, Baptism certificate, a copy of the student's most recent full school report and an application fee of $50.

  2. When contacted by the College, attend an interview with the Principal and local Parish priest.
