CRC Melton- Making a Difference

As well as the school senior students being involved in Community Service there are numerous ways the college seeks to make a difference in our local and wider communities.

‘JustUs’ - Is a student justice group that with assistance from some staff seeks to promote social justice issues and heighten student interest and involvement in activities that promote justice.  The College encourages members of ‘JustUs’ and elected student representatives to attend events such as:

St Vincent de Paul Conference for Students, Presentations by the Benenson Society, Student Social Justice Day (promoted by CEO Office for Justice and Peace) and Conversations with the Archbishop.

With the leadership and hard work of key staff and ‘JustUs’ members Cultural Diversity Week is actively celebrated at school.

Catholic Regional College-Melton endeavours to exercise ‘charity’ in its real sense by promoting the yearly Project Compassion collection to assist Caritas with its many good works.

A close connection with the Brother Beausang School in Nairobi, Kenya has been fostered by a recent visit by our Principal Mr Mark Sheehan.  In mid-2012 four staff will travel to Kenya with funds raised for this school. In 2013 a number of CRC students too will journey to the Brother Beausang School to help out at the school in a number of exciting ways.
