VCE Drama Solos
The VCE Drama students are to be congratulated on their high energy seven minute solos, which successfully showcased not only their strong performance skills, but also their ability to build a strong relationship with the audience. We wish the year 12 students all the very best of luck when they face the examiners in October.

Year 12 Short Solo Performances

The Year 12 Drama students presented their Unit 4 Short Solo Performances during the final week of term 2. The performance works were based on the picture story book ‘Tough Boris’ by Australian author, Mem Fox.

VCE Drama Performance Works

The combined Year 11 and 12 Drama class responded to the stimulus of the Apollo 11 Mission within their ensemble performance works; the result was an inspired evening of highly imaginative characters and storylines based on their research of the 1969 moon landing.

Black Diggers

The year 10, 11 and 12 drama students were fortunate to attend the Queensland Theatre Company’s production of Black Diggers at the Arts Centre, Melbourne. This play acknowledged and celebrated the achievements of the indigenous diggers who signed up for World War I. Our students not only demonstrated perfect theatre etiquette during the performance, but also showed maturity and compassion in discussing the themes of the performance on the journey home.

Top Class Performance

Students from drama classes across years 9, 10, 11 and 12, attended the VCAA Season of Excellence, Top Class Performance at the Playhouse Theatre, at the Melbourne Arts Centre. Our students were privileged to view the highest scoring VCE drama solos from 2014 which will serve as inspiration for our students’ own performance works throughout the year.

Year 10 Drama Ensemble Performances

The Year 10 Drama class staged their ensemble performances based on the stimulus of ‘the gypsy wedding’ to a warm and receptive audience during week 2 of term 2. Students are to be commended on their hard work and the commitment shown during the rehearsal process which resulted in a very high standard of performance.

Year 9 Stations of the Cross

The Year 9 Drama class presented a contemporary interpretation of the Stations of the Cross during the final week of term 1. Students are to be commended upon their mature approach towards this assessment task and the commitment they demonstrated throughout the rehearsal process.
